Suzannah Samuel is an actress and filmmaker from Baltimore, Maryland. She had a colorful upbringing in her family's legendary bar, the Club Charles. She began performing in plays and musicals at the age of three and went on to earn a BFA in Acting from NYU Tisch School of the Arts.

Now based in Los Angeles, Suzannah is a multi-hyphenate filmmaker. She wrote, produced, directed, edited and starred in her first short film, shot entirely on her iPhone. The film, Orange Like Me, went on to screen at six film festivals and received three awards, including Best Actress, Best Writer, and Best Original Idea.

 

She is currently studying Meisner technique at the Ruskin School, while developing her next projects as a writer-director-star.

As an actress, Suzannah shines in vibrant, witty, and resilient characters. Her range spans from sarcastic, crass comediennes, to gritty rebels in action thrillers, to simple, good-hearted women in westerns. She loves portraying the humanity beneath characters who are tough, strange, or a little bit broken.

​

As a filmmaker, however, Suzannah is drawn to all things strange and unusual (she herself is... strange and unusual). She has a particular love for horror, psychological thrillers, and the darkest of comedies. Her work tends to be unapologetically unconventional, occasionally disturbing, and usually difficult to explain at dinner parties.
